Graduation

Students who intend to graduate from Hawai‘i Pacific University and participate in a commencement (graduation) ceremony must complete two forms. The first is a Petition for Degree Conferral (formally known as a PTG: Petition to Graduate), which is typically filed in the first term of the final year of coursework. Academic advisors will review the remaining degree requirements to ensure that students are aware of outstanding academic requirements so that they can register for the correct courses in advance of the final term.

HPU holds both a fall and spring commencement (graduation) ceremony (December and May). Students who would like to participate in a graduation ceremony must also complete a Graduation Ceremony RSVP during their final term at HPU and paying a Commencement Ceremony Fee. To be eligible to participate in the graduation ceremony, a student must have completed the Petition to Graduate Form and must have met with his or her academic advisor to verify the plan for degree completion. In addition, all outstanding university obligations, including receipt of prior transcripts and payment of outstanding balances, must be resolved one month prior to the graduation ceremony in order to participate.
