Graduation

Students who intend to graduate from Hawai‘i Pacific University and participate in a commencement (graduation) ceremony must complete two forms. The first is a Petition to Graduate (PTG), which is typically filed in the first term of the final year of coursework. Academic advisors and/or Program Chairs will review the remaining degree requirements to ensure that students are aware of any outstanding academic requirements so that the students can register for the correct courses in advance of the final term. All students who complete a degree or certificate at HPU will be charged a Graduation Fee. 

HPU holds both a fall (December) and spring (May) commencement ceremony. Students who would like to participate in a graduation ceremony must also complete a Graduation Ceremony RSVP during their final term at HPU. To be eligible to participate in the graduation ceremony, a student must have completed the Petition to Graduate Form and must have met with an academic advisor to verify the plan for degree completion. In addition, all outstanding university obligations, including receipt of prior transcripts and payment of outstanding balances, must be resolved one month prior to the graduation ceremony in order to participate.
